I recently had my carpets removed from the upper level of my house (3 bedrooms and hallway) and had it replaced with hardwood flooring. From the initial phone call with George, the consultation, prior to and after installation, George was always there to advise, keep me updated, answering my concerns and making sure that I was happy with everything along the way. The installers arrived on time, worked hard and did an amazing job and went above and beyond what I expected. I couldn't be any happier with the entire process, it has made me love my home all over again! I highly recommend The Carpet Palace. We recently had The Carpet Palace remove older wall-to-wall carpeting, plus original 63 year old 1-3/4" wide oak hardwood strip flooring throughout our living room/dining room/main hall/side hall/stairs/landing and replace with new 1/2" plywood subfloor, topped with 5" wide x 1/2" thick hickory Canadian-made engineered hardwood flooring. Also replaced original baseboard with new current-profile baseboard plus shoe mould. We opted to go with new replacement hardwood vs refinishing the original hardwood, as we wanted a strengthened, squeakless new floor with a current-looking wider board than the original narrow strip board. Also, we had heard from others that replacing with new hardwood is as cost-effective, sometimes more-so, than refinishing the original hardwood. Our entire installation (removals/replacement) was completed proficiently and skillfully in less than two full days. The flooring crew was diligent, quiet-spoken, pleasant. They arrived at our home both days sharply at 7:30 a.m. and they finished up in good time both afternoons. We chose The Carpet Palace for our project, for the most part, based on the immediate level of confidence and comfort we had on first meeting with Bill at their store/showroom and, soon after, having received his competitive written quotation. A level that easily exceeded our experience during prior visits to three other flooring stores in our area. Bill proved excellent to work with all along the way. We found him to be likeable, knowledgeable, patient, accommodating, consistently responsive (quotation, email/phone communication, scheduling of work). George was also a pleasure to liaise with upon completion of the work. In summary, our flooring project came off without a hitch. Excellent service and quality of materials/workmanship, installation started on schedule/completed on time. There were no surprises and no disappointments with the installation, no extra costs above and beyond the quotation. It is not often these days you find a small business who listens, cares, and really comes through in the end with a top notch result BUT the Carpet Palace is one of them ! You can sense the passion the Carpet Palace has. You can feel the desire to please.
